Whisper, whisper

Last weekend during a shopping trip, I decided to play/test our girl's mind....

Daddy : "Laetitia...come here..."

Laetitia : "Whaaaat?"

Daddy : "I said come here....I need to tell you something."

Laetitia : "What?"

Daddy : "Tonight, mummy and daddy sleep together."

Laetitia : "?!?" (puzzled look on her face)

Daddy : "I said, tonight mummy and daddy sleep together in the room."

Laetitia : "You always sleep together in the room. Why you tell me this?"

Daddy : "Yes, but tonight daddy and mummy sleep together and you can not come upstairs and sleep with us."

Laetitia : (her eyes suddenly go wide open) "Oh hoooo, you and mummy sex together ?!"

Daddy : "Nooooooo, I didn't say that. I said that we sleep together, that's all."

Laetitia : "Aiyooo......" (running towards mum) "Mummy, you and daddy sex tonight?"

Jessica : (looking at me quizically)

Daddy : (shooting a fast wink to Jess) "I told our girl not to come upstairs tonight as we will be sleeping together."

Jessica : "Aaah yes, girl, we are just sleeping. Why you say we sex together?....And who taught you this 'word'....we never taught you this 'word' ."

Laetitia : "Hmmmmpppffffff" (and off she goes)

Few hours later, whilst Jess was choosing what kind of bread/cakes to buy for next morning's breakfast with Laetitia in tow. (I was dutifully standing outside the shop with that day's shopping spree in both my hands).......with shop assistants and customers in the immediate vicinity.......our girl popped a question to Jess.

Laetitia : "Mummy, .............." (whispering something inaudible)

Jessica : (busy making a choice what bread to buy) "What?? Speak louder...."

Laetitia : "Mummy, .............." (again whispering inaudible words)

Jessica : "Mummy and daddy always tell you not to whisper, this is no manners. You have to speak aloud, now!"

Laetitia : "MUMMY, YOU GOT SEX OR NOT TONIGHT? SO I SLEEP UPSTAIRS OR DOWNSTAIRS?"

Apart from the background music, the whole shop stopped cold.....the shop assistants and other customers turned their heads away, pretending not to have heard anything.

Jess tried to shoo Laetitia away, but to no avail, as the girl was standing put to help mum carrying the bread selection. Didn't take long though for Jess to finish selecting and paying for the goods.....:p

We better keep our mouth shut next time 'round and just put on some mouthmasks to mute our conversation
