Dermatoglyphics......what in a name......

Dermatoglypics……….

Now you might think….’Dermato..what?!?’…..you might have already heard about ‘dermatology' or in common language everything that involves skincare….but dermatoglyphics is not related to skincare at all….or is it?

Dermatoglyphics involves the study of fingerprints. Do not mistake it with identification as commonly used by law enforcement agencies, but the sincere and serious analysis of fingerprints. And according to what I’ve been told and some self-reading, apparently the shape and and patterns of fingerprints gives the analyzer a general idea of what kind of character the subject possesses.

Sounds eerily strange, doesn't it? Well, the 'scientific' study of fingerprints is still in its infancy, but we would not be too surprised if something useful comes out from this (remember our girl's blindfold reading techniques?)......

So my dearest and her friend underwent a course together and after that took it upon themselves to check this new phenomena and test it out on more test-subjects. It seems it is not so easy after all, it's not the fingerprints themselves but also taking into account the distance between certain points on the palm of the respective hands.

Thus only after these many steps, were Jess and Maggie able to analyze and scrutinize the characters of their test-subjects..........mmmmmhmmmmmhhhhmmmmm........sssssshhhh, keep this quiet.......they actually did it on their own respective children first (that includes our dragon girl)...........and needless to say that the ladies were more keenly interested in what kind of results this finger analysis would come up with........

So what's the result for our daughter? Interestingly enough, it confirms the existing character traits of her that we know of........but then again, you might say, that's so easy......because the descriptive words might be too generalized and they could apply it to everybody.......and everybody would then say "Yes, yes....that's me".....(like astrology,....ring a bell? :p)

But part of this fingerprint scanning 'science' is also able to tell what the dislikes and likes are of a certain person, thus getting more into details.......

And here we were kinda caught by surprise........it accurately labelled the likes and dislikes of our daughter, and I'm not talking about 'food' here, but also her 'interests'.......

We have already known a long time that she is kinda weak at maths, thus also logical thinking, but kinda good at languages, music and etcetera (perfect proof are her school reports, doh)......and the analysis pointed these strengths and weaknessess out........strange indeed.........The extensive report also brings up lots of scientific gibberish like "visual/spatial intelligence", "Intra-personal Intelligence", "Logical Intelligence" and so forth........

So with this newfound knowledge about our daughter, are we better equipped to help her further on her educational path?!? Mmmmmhhhmmm.....time will tell.....

Better don't show her the results of this 'test' yet, otherwise she would take it as an excuse for failing her math test again!!!
