3D Disney's way

3D cinema........

For decades it has been touted as the next big thing when it comes to cinematic viewing experience, but limited technology has always turned it into wishful thinking. Remember the awkward 3D glasses, the nauseous feeling which they gave you after a showing.....those were the major complaints that prohibited 3D from really taking off......

Well, Disneyland Hong Kong has an attraction which uses this 3D technology and I was a bit skeptical towards it but the kiddo's were adamant on checking it out.......

My oh my, my fears founded to be untrue..........the cinematic show was a true 3D splendour in itself, combined with true stereo surround sound and not only our visual senses were stimulated but also our other senses with the clever use of perfumed scents, the gush of air blowing towards us and even droplets of water hitting us when the "movie" suggested that we were being splashed with water........and not the least, Donald Duck roaring towards us in his usual hyperactive demeanour like an enraged fowl on steroids.......................a truly encompassing experience to say the least......

I recently read that major tv manufacturers have jumped onto the bandwagon to produce and entice us, consumers, to purchase 3D tv sets in the foreseeable future as the LCD technology has already reached its nadir. Based on what we experienced at Disney, it is a really mouthwatering prospect indeed...............

Has 3D really taken off now? Let's hope for the best...........thanks to the kiddo's demanding to see this Disney show, and dragging me along........... I have turned into a true believer.........:p
