Treasure Hunt? Pardon me.....

It was AmBank's turn to build up their image in these hard economic times.

But as Hong Leong Bank whistled up a Lion Dance troupe (read previous post, "PR Stunt - February 7th 2009), our local AmBank branch pulled out all the stops in order to catch the attention of all who passed their premises.

A buffet banquet, eat all you can.....which ofcourse we duly feasted upon, can't blame us for being overzealous, as we were on our way to go for lunch anyway (and who in its right mind would pass on a free lunch anyway).

A clown doing his magic show for the kiddo's (sssssshhhhhh, Laetitia told us that he was a cheater, she saw how he performed fake magic,......doh, nothing can escape her 'eagle' eyes)

A vendor providing a few footmassage units for the customers to try out and just bear the accompanying salespitch whilst one is treating him/herself with a revitalizing bout of footreflexology :p

A team from a nearby private hospital performing a quick healthcheck (cholesterol, height, weight, BMI, glucose) for a minimal fee of RM15 (about 3 euro's). And yes, kewl, both our cholesterol levels are a bit above normal (grmmmmbllllll)

But ofcourse AmBank itself grabbed everyone's attention with their TREASURE HUNT, with a whopping grand prize of Rm238.000 (50.000 euro's).......

Did I say Treasure Hunt?

Definition of 'Treasure Hunt' = a game in which each person or team attempts to be first in finding something that has been hidden, using written directions or clues.

But should I sue AmBank for deceiving people? 'Cos according to the T&Q's of AmBank, one stands a chance of winning this grand prize when one deposits RM2500 into a saving account. Meaning people can only be eligible for this grand prize when they part with RM2500.
Yups, you read it right.....this is definetely not a Treasure Hunt, but a blatant form of Lottery!!!

We knew the economy is going haywire, and banks are in dire need of liquidity, but this is getting ridiculous......

I don't see this happening in good ol' Belgium though.....all one gets from the banks there during an 'open day' are a few balloons for the kiddo's and maybe a refreshment or 2.

Thanks AmBank for the free lunch and entertainment!!
